On our first Interview for the Delicious Recordings Website we have the German prodigy Yulia Niko.
To let people know a little more about the artists that release on our label, we have put together this Interview section which will hopefully shed some light on topics that concern the fans.
1. Having in mind all the people that don´t know about you or haven´t heard your music before, how would you describe your personal
sound and the main components that conform to it?
As a statistic on Beatport shows, I am a Minimal, Deep tech girl. And I am feeling the same way. What can be more refreshing than minimal groovy tracks with beautiful melodies? But I dig a lot of old stuff from Chicago and Detroit. I am choosing the best that can fit my sound and troughing it out to people!
2. Did you have any particular source of inspiration for this EP? I like all music with acid basslines and wanted to do something that can rock it. I was jamming at home with my recorder. I wanted to do track where I will say myself "Good Vibes" and just after repeating it over and over, I said "Acid Vibes" and it was so randomly. So now the EP is right here.
3. How do you feel about this release? Its well-done tech-house EP, which I already have sent to a couple of DJs like Jamie Jones or Leon, for example, and they played supported it and played it out. I think its something that I can proud of. Hopefully, Brazilian listeners are going to like it.
4. Is there anything interesting up in your agenda, do you have any exciting gigs or other big releases coming up? Everything that's happening for me in the world of music it's inspiring. I am currently producing the album, and i also have upcoming tracks next year on Get Physical, Watergate, even on my label with really cool remixes. Just keep working and keep waking up with good vibes. On the 10th of January, I will play in Tulum at Day Zero, and its a dream came true in case it's one of the favorites parties.
5. What could be your best advice or tip to any aspiring artists who might look into you for inspiration? It always the same advice I give to everyone, which I also got in the early 15ish. Do not listen to anyone; LISTEN TO YOUR HEART. You will never achieve your goals if you rely on the opinion of others. Stay positive, motivated, and focused. And be careful with drugs lol
6. To finish the interview in an interesting way, we would like to make a pair of different questions. Can you tell us something special about you that most people don't know? Hm, let me think, people don't know what I love to cook and I am very good at it. I say: "I like to mix music as I like to mix vegetables." I am a simple and easy-going person, in case if someone has a different influence from my socials. I wake every morning full of life and love and appreciate it so much. (even if I feel like shit, sick or exhausted from travels). It's so hard to understand from where it's coming from in case I am from a little town in Russia, and usually, people don't know how to handle emotions and express themselves. But I got lucky, and I am who I am.
7. Can you sincerely tell us what's the craziest thing you have ever seen with your own two eyes in a night club? I want to remind you of what I live in Berlin. We see crazy things daily. When people are having sex in the club or wearing fetish freaking costume (not only for Halloween), it's a routine for me. lol I am not into it in case of my mentality. I like to keep hot stuff for private home events. :) Anyway, so far, I think I saw the girl peeing on the guy, and he seemed to enjoy it. He was seated on the sofa, right on the dance floor in one of Berlin's club. Yes, welcome to Berlin, can I pee on your face? lol
thanks xxx
